Becoming A Member of our Congregation…

We invite you to become a vital part of the fellowship at First Baptist Church, Mexia. If you are impressed by the Holy Spirit to unite with this local body, you may do so by coming forward during the invitation hymn and expressing your desire to the pastor. Membership is open in the following three ways:

By Baptism

You may come accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. We rejoice in your decision and would like to share with you the meaning of believer's baptism and church membership.

If you are a Christian, but are coming from another church with different doctrinal beliefs concerning baptism, you may come reaffirming your faith in Christ and be baptized into the fellowship.

By Letter

If you are a Christian and a member of another Southern Baptist Church, you may come forward expressing your desire. The church secretary will simply request a letter from your former church and they will in turn send us a recommendation for membership.

By Statement

If you come from a Southern Baptist Church but for some reason your letter of membership is unavailable, you may come with a verbal statement of your conversion and scriptural baptism.

If you come from a bible believing non-Southern Baptist Church with like faith and order to this church, you may come stating your personal belief and scriptural baptism. If you are uncertain as to your situation, you may wish to arrange a meeting with the pastor. We would be honored to be your church family!
